Finance Minister vows to implement structural reforms in various sectors

Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has reiterated government's commitment to implement prudent fiscal policies and structural reforms in various sectors including FBR, privatization, and private sector facilitation. Talking to British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott in Islamabad, he apprised the High Commissioner about the conclusion of the second IMF review under the Standby Arrangement. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has launched the 'Plant for Pakistan' drive by planting a sapling at Punjab House. On this occasion, she said that trees are friends of humans and they beautify the soil. The Chief Minister said that the survival of human beings is integrated with the trees in this world. She said that forests can play a key role in reducing environmental pollution in the country, while climate change and increasing temperatures could be mitigated by forests. Prime Minister vows to wipe out menace of terrorism

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has expressed unwavering commitment to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country. In a statement today, he said Pakistan Army is resolutely committed to eliminate the scourge of terrorism. He said the war against terrorism will continue until the menace is completely eradicated from the country. Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the Army convoy in Dera Ismail Khan in which two security personnel embraced martyrdom. He also commiserated with the bereaved families and prayed for the departed souls. Meanwhile, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has strongly condemned the terrorists attack and expressed grief and sorrow over the martyrdom of two previous lives. Funeral prayers of Sepoy Bahar Khan and Sepoy Imran Ali offered in native areas

Namaz-e-Janaza of Shuhada Sepoy Bahar Khan and Sepoy Imran Ali were offered full military honors in their native areas who were martyred while thwarting the terrorist attack in Gwadar Port Authority Colony on Wednesday. The ISPR said relatives of the martyrs, soldiers of Pakistan Army and elders of the areas participated in the Namaz-e-Janaza. The armed forces of Pakistan stand by the nation and are determined to thwart all attempts by terrorists to sabotage peace and stability. Pakistan ready to sign MoUs with Bosnia for furtherance of bilateral cooperation: Secretary

Grand Mufti of Bosnia and Herzegovina Dr Hussein met Secretary Religious Affairs Dr. Syed Atta ur Rehman in Islamabad today. They agreed to work together for promotion of peace, education, religious harmony and elimination of Islamophobia. The Secretary Religious Affairs said people of the two countries share a cultural, historical and religious bond. He said Pakistan is ready to sign Memorandums of Understandings with Bosnia for furtherance of religious education, translation of important books, exchange of delegations and bilateral cooperation. He said exchange of delegations at the government and public level will strengthen bilateral ties. On the occasion, the Grand Mufti expressed gratitude to Pakistan for its peacekeeping services and UN humanitarian missions in Bosnia. He said the two countries have a strong bond and several key position holders in Bosnia have received education from Pakistan. The Grand Mufti also extended wishes of Ramadan and Independence Day to Pakistani brethren.
