Sarfraz Bugti to take oath as CM Balochistan today

The swearing in of the newly-elected Chief Minister of Balochistan, Mir Sarfraz Bugti will take place at the Governor House in Quetta on Saturday. He was elected unopposed as Leader of the House in the Balochistan Assembly yesterday. Election of President will be held on Saturday next

Asif Zardari, Mahmood Achakzai are vying for the office of President. Asif Ali Zardari, the joint candidate of PPP and the PML-N, and Sunni Ittehad Council's candidate Mahmood Khan Achakzai are vying for the office of President. Their nomination papers were filed today for the presidential elections to be held on the 9th of this month. The scrutiny of the nomination papers will be held on Monday. The president is elected by an electoral college comprising members of the Senate, National Assembly and the four provincial assemblies. Voting is held through a secret ballot. Interim Govt worked for promotion of democracy: Solangi

A farewell ceremony was organized today in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in honor of the Caretaker Minister for Information, Broadcasting and Parliamentary Affairs Murtaza Solangi. Speaking on the occasion, Information Minister Murtaza Solangi thanked the officials and staff of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for their cooperation during the interim government. The Minister said the portfolio of Ministry of Information was a great honor and responsibility for him. Murtaza Solangi said he is also grateful to the heads of all the departments of the Ministry who extended their support to him during the caretaker government.
