Corps Commander Karachi visits Kotri field firing ranges Hyderabad

Corps Commander Karachi, Lieutenant General Muhammad Saeed visited Kotri Field Firing Ranges Hyderabad and witnessed on-going training exercise of troops.

According to ISPR, the exercise is aimed at enhancing operational preparedness under challenging terrain and actual battlefield environment.

While interacting with troops, Corps Commander lauded their operational readiness and training standards.

Pakistan underlines need of limiting global warming

At the United Nations, Pakistan has underlined the need of limiting global warming and leveraging climate finance to maximize synergies between climate action, development and conflict prevention.

Addressing the UN Security Council Arria-Formula meeting on climate finance, Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Munir Akram said unless we act, climate change will jeopardize land, water, resources and jobs, and perhaps exacerbate conflicts.

He said climate finance should be deployed to build sustainable infrastructure, including energy, transport in developing countries as part of efforts to meet mitigation and sustainable development targets.

The Ambassador urged developed countries to fulfill their pledge of 100 billion dollars per year in climate finance to support the needs of developing nations.

Development in IT sector to bring exponential revolution in overall economy: President

President Dr. Arif Alvi says timely digitization and identifying opportunities can catapult Pakistan to progress.

Addressing 1st Multimodal Logistics Conference in Islamabad today (Thursday), he said development in IT sector will bring exponential revolution in overall economy of the country.

He said Pakistan can provide a gateway to Central Asian States to its ports.

The President said government is taking steps to facilitate goods supply sector for its modernization.

He said Islamabad, Tehran and Istanbul freight train has resumed its service.

Dr Arif Alvi said leaders of central Asian states are eager to join Belt and Road Initiative and to take benefit from Pakistan's ports.

He stressed for inclusion of women in business sector to fill the prevailing vacuum.

Tarin calls for tapping business potential for investment b/w Pakistan, Saudi Arabia

Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin has emphasized the need for tapping immense business potential for investment between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

He was talking to Chairman Board of Investment Azfar Ahsan and Ambassador of Pakistan to Saudi Arabia Ameer Khuram Rathore in Islamabad on Thursday.

The meeting discussed avenues for investment opportunities for Saudi investors in Pakistan.

Ambassador of Pakistan to Saudi Arabia apprised the Finance Minister that Saudi government, as well as investors are keenly interested for investment in Pakistan in refinery, agriculture, Information Technology and semi-conductor manufacturing sectors.

The Finance Minister urged Board of Investment to finalize discussion with prospective investors in Saudi Arabia.
