Pakistan supports peaceful resolution to Yemen’s conflict as per UNSC, OIC resolutions

Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood has reaffirmed Pakistan's support for a peaceful resolution to the conflict in Yemen as per relevant UN Security Council and OIC resolutions.

He was talking to Deputy Foreign Minister of Yemen Mansour Ali Saeed Bajash in Islamabad today [Thursday].

The Foreign Secretary stressed the need for continued cooperation between the two countries at multilateral forums, including the UN and the OIC.

He conveyed concern at the security situation in Yemen and reiterated Pakistan's condemnation of terrorist attacks by the Houthi militias.

The Yamani Deputy Foreign Minister while conveying his government's appreciation for Pakistan's support expressed confidence that Pak-Yemen relations would continue to grow.

Meanwhile, Qatar’s Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi also met Foreign Secretary Sohail Mahmood met in Islamabad.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of the 48th session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers in Pakistan.

They reviewed the multi-faceted Pakistan-Qatar relations, in addition to exchanging views on regional and international issues.

PM to address massive public gathering called Amr-bil-Maroof in Islamabad today

Prime Minister Imran Khan will address a massive public gathering called Amr-bil-Maroof in Islamabad on Sunday.

Preparations for the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's public gathering have been finalized. A huge number of PTI workers and supporters are present at the Parade Ground, whereas rallies from various cities are heading towards the federal capital.

Banners and hoardings have been displayed at the entry points of the city to welcome different rallies coming to attend the Amr-bil-Maroof public gathering at Parade Ground in Islamabad.

Meanwhile, a large PTI rally left Lahore via motorway to attend today's historical public gathering in Islamabad, which will be addressed by Prime Minister Imran Khan and other party leaders.

The rally is being led by Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mehmood, Provincial Ministers including Education Minister Dr. Murad Raas, Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid and Industries Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal. Several provincial and local party leaders and a huge number of party workers are part of the rally, carrying PTI flags and raising pro-PTI slogans.

Talking to newsmen before departure, Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mehmood said that the entire nation stands with Prime Minister Imran Khan as they have rejected the buying and selling of lawmakers. He said that a battle between forces of evil and good is being fought in the country.

On the occasion, PTI leaders Jamshed Cheema and Musarrat Cheema said that today is a decisive day in Pakistan's history and people, in huge numbers, are heading towards Islamabad all on their own. They said that the public has rejected the Opposition designs No Confidence Motion against the Prime Minister will fail.

Several PTI leaders and a large number of workers left for Islamabad via train as well.

President confers military awards on serving & martyred armed forces’ personnel

President Dr Arif Alvi has conferred military awards on serving and martyred armed forces' personnel.

The military awards were awarded in an investiture ceremony held in Islamabad on Thursday evening.

These awards include forty one Hilal-e-Imtiaiz Military and five Sitara-e-Basalat posthumously.

The investiture ceremony was attended by Ministers, parliamentarians, family members of martyrs and other high ranking civil and military officers.
