FM Qureshi set to embark on China visit today

Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi leaves for China on Tuesday where he is scheduled to meet a number of foreign ministers of various countries on the sidelines of the Meeting of Foreign Ministers of the Neighbouring Countries of Afghanistan.

In a press statement, the foreign minister said that during his visit to China, he will also hold meetings with his counterparts from the Central Asian countries, besides he is expected to meet foreign ministers of Russia and Iran.

He said that during these meetings, regional issues, peace and stability will be discussed. Issues related to economic security of the region, bilateral relations and Afghanistan will also be reviewed.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi said Pakistan enjoys good relations with all the countries and it wants to foster these ties further.

About the political situation in Pakistan, the foreign minister further said that in a democratic system, the public takes decisions.

He regretted that during the recent no trust move, bribes have been doled out which is not a good thing for the future and democracy.

The foreign minister, who is also the vice chairman of PTI, further said that they have conveyed to the MQM friends that PML-Q has decided to support PTI.

Attempts being made to pull Govt down through foreign funding: FM

Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that people of Pakistan have expressed full confidence in the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

Talking to a private television channel, he said attempts are being made to pull the government down through foreign funding but people have given positive response to the PTI government.

He said that we are moving forward in consultation with members of PTI and support of allied partners. He said that the Prime Minister has also shared challenges being faced by the government.

Voicing serious concerns over suspicious letter received by PM, he said the PTI leadership has shared the threatening letter with establishment.

PM expresses resolve to make Pakistan an Islamic welfare state

Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed the resolve to make Pakistan an Islamic welfare state on the pattern of the State of Madina as established by the Holy Prophet Mohammad [Peace Be Upon Him].

Addressing a mammoth public rally of PTI entitled "Amr Bil Maroof" in Islamabad, he said corrupt elements have been plundering the national wealth for thirty years and now they are trying to blackmail him by moving a no-confidence motion against him.

Imran Khan said he will not compromise on supremacy of law to put the powerful under the ambit of law that is why no NRO will be given to corrupt.

The Prime Minister said the government introduced universal health coverage, allocated massive funds under Ehsas Programme, and provided interest-free easy loans to youth under Kamyab Jawan Programme.

Imran Khan said with the growth in tax collection, the government gave a subsidy of 2.5 billion rupees, reducing the prices of petrol, diesel and electricity.

3rd Int’l Conference on Space 2022 begins in Islamabad

The 3rd International Conference on Space 2022 began in Islamabad on Monday.

It is being organized by Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission and Asia Pacific Space Cooperation Organization.

Theme of the conference is "Role of Space Technology and Applications in Socio-Economic Development".

In his address, Chairman SUPARCO Major General Amer Nadeem said that SUPARCO is committed to promote the use of space technology and its applications for achieving Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the UN member states.

The Chairman said Space Technology also contributes greatly in confronting countless challenges in the fields of climate change, resource monitoring, disaster management and mitigation health and education.

250 scientists are participating in this conference and more than 56 papers will be presented by national and international participants in the conference.

Later, in an Exclusive interview with Radio Pakistan, the chairman SUPARCO said that Pakistan is planning to send Astronaut in space in near future which is directly linked with national development and security.

He said under the national space program approved by the government, the SUPARCO is executing different projects.

No-confidence motion on agenda as NA meets today

National Assembly session will be held at 4 pm today after an interval of two days.

The agenda of the session include no confidence motion against prime minister and calling attention notices on public interest matters.
