Vantage kicks off the Affiliate World Cup 2022 promotion

This is Vantage’s first global scale competition for its affiliates, which is inspired by the world’s favourite sport – football.

The Affiliate World Cup 2022 competition runs from 2nd March to 18th December 2022, with two Qualifiers rounds held for five qualified regions, and the Grand Final.

Qualifier 1 will run from 2nd March to 31st May, while Qualifier 2 will run from 1st June to 31st August. The top 10 affiliates from each region will make it to the Grand Final round and those who ranked in the first 3 positions in their regions may also receive up to USD$8,000.

At the end of the Grand Final – which runs from 1 September to 18 December – the top affiliate will walk away with a grand prize of USD$100,000. The second and third prize winners will receive USD$20,000, and USD$10,000, respectively.

Loans worth Rs1000b to be provided to deserving households: PM

Prime Minister Imran Khan has said loans worth one thousand billion rupees will be provided to four point five million deserving households under Kamyab Pakistan Program by next year to lift them out of poverty and enable them earn their livelihoods.

He was addressing a ceremony in connection with launch of disbursement of interest free loans under Kamyab Pakistan Program in Islamabad on Wednesday.

He said that loans to the tune of 2.5 billion rupees have already been disbursed under the program.

The Prime Minister said Kamyab Pakistan Program, aimed at taking the country towards a welfare state, will be further expanded.

Imran Khan said Kamyab Pakistan Program envisages interest free loans of five hundred thousand rupees for businesses, three hundred and fifty thousand rupees for the farmers and two million rupees for the construction of houses.

He said technical training will also be provided to one member of each deserving family in order to help them stand on their own feet.

Alluding to other pro people initiatives including health insurance scheme, he said this path, which was envisioned by Philosopher Poet Allama Iqbal, will take the country towards greatness.

Imran Khan regretted that Pakistan in the past could not achieve its due place in the comity of nations because it did not pursue the ideology for which it was created. He noted that the nations which forget their ideology never succeed.

The Prime Minister said he is inaugurating Rahmatul-lil Alameen authority tomorrow and the aim is to acquaint our youth with the life and teachings of Hazrat Muhammad Rasool Allah Khatam-un-Nabiyeen Sallallaho Alaihe Wa Ala Alayhee Wa Ashabehi Wassalam.

Prime Minister Imran Khan also expressed satisfaction over the record revenue collection made by the FBR saying it is because of enhanced revenue, the government was able to reduce the prices of petrol and diesel by ten rupees per liter and the electricity tariff by five rupees per unit. Urging the people to pay their taxes, he assured that this revenue will be used to uplift the poor class and reduce the burden of inflation on the people.

First oil tanker under Saudi oil facility will reach Pakistan in 3rd week of March: Omar

Minister for Economic Affairs Omar Ayub Khan says first oil tanker under Saudi oil facility will reach Pakistan in the third week of of this month.

He was talking to Saudi Ambassador Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malkiy, who called on him in Islamabad today [Wednesday].

Omar Ayub Khan acknowledged timely operationalization of Saudi oil facility worth 1.2 billion dollars on one-year deferred payment basis.

The Saudi Ambassador assured of continued support at all level to strengthen bilateral economic cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

At the UN, Pakistan hopes diplomacy can avert military conflict between Ukraine & Russia

Pakistan's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Munir Akram has said that Pakistan is committed to the fundamental principles of the UN Charter,self-determination of peoples, non-use or threat of use of force, sovereignty and territorial integrity of States, and pacific settlement of disputes.

Addressing the Emergency Special Session of the UN General Assembly in New York, the Ambassador said Pakistan upholds the principle of equal and indivisible security for all. These principles must be consistently and universally respected.

He said Pakistan remains deeply concerned at the recent turn of events. This reflects a failure of diplomacy.

Munir Akram said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has regretted the latest situation between Russia and Ukraine, and said that Pakistan had hoped that diplomacy could avert military conflict.

The Ambassador said we have since repeatedly stressed the need for de-escalation, renewed negotiations, sustained dialogue, and continuous diplomacy.

He said all efforts must be made to avoid further escalation of violence and loss of life as well as military, political and economic tensions which can pose an unprecedented threat to international peace and security and global economic stability. As consistently underlined by Prime Minister Imran Khan, the developing countries are hit the hardest economically by conflict anywhere.

He hoped that talks initiated between representatives of the Russian Federation and Ukraine will succeed in bringing about a cessation of hostilities and normalization of the situation. A diplomatic solution in accordance with relevant multilateral agreements, international law, and the provisions of the UN Charter is indispensable.

The Ambassador said Pakistan also supports all efforts to provide humanitarian relief to civilians in the affected areas.

He said the Government of Pakistan is most concerned about the safety and welfare of Pakistani citizens and students in Ukraine.
