Major Tufail remembered on 63rd martyrdom anniversary

63rd Martyrdom day of Major Muhammad Tufail Shaheed is being observed today.

To mark the day, a function was held in Tufail Abad district Vehari today, where General Officer Commanding Major General Munir ud Din laid floral wreath at the shrine on behalf of Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Jave Bajwa and Corp Commander Bahawal Pur Lt.General Khalid Zia.

On the occasion, a contingent of Pak army offered Salute to the martyred Soldier.

Families of army officers, officers of civil administration and notables of the area also attended the function.

Polling for by-election on GB-4 Nagar-1 underway

Polling for the by-election on GB Assembly 4 Nagar 1 is in progress.

Our Gilgit correspondent Sher Muhammad reports that the polling process will continue till 5:00 pm without any break.

42 polling stations have been set up in the constituency for 23,467 registered voters.

COVID-19 SOPs are strictly being implemented during the polling process at stations.

The PTI candidate, Aga Zulfiqar Ali, PPP's Javed Hussain, Islami Tehreeke Pakistan’s Ayub Wazari, Muttahida Wadatul Muslimeen's candidate Rizwan Ali are contesting election on party tickets.

Foolproof security plan devised for Muharram-ul-Haram: Punjab CM

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has said a foolproof security plan has been devised for Muharram-ul-Haram to ensure peace and harmony in the province.

Chairing a special meeting of Ittehad Bain-ul-Muslimeen Committee in Lahore today (Sunday), he said due to the effective measures by the government, the law and order situation in the province is satisfactory.

The Chief Minister appreciated the role of Ittehad Bain-ul-Muslimeen Committee for developing harmony in the province and thanked the religious scholars for their cooperation during the campaign against coronavirus.

Eid-ul-Azha: Over 60,600 tons of offals, garbage lifted in Karachi

In Karachi, over sixty thousand six hundred tons of offals and garbage was lifted and dumped at landfill sites in three days of Eid-ul-Azha.

Sindh Solid Waste Management Board said in a statement in this regard that offals of sacrificial animals lifted from various parts of the city were properly buried in the trenches.

Meanwhile Spokesman of Sindh government Barrister Murtaza Wahab and Managing Director Sindh Solid Waste Management Board Zubair Channa visited various parts of district central and east of the city and expressed satisfaction over lifting and dumping of offals and hides from the city.

Road b/w Hunza, Kashgar restored for one-way traffic

The road between Hunza and Kashgar, China has been restored for one-way traffic on Sunday.

The Road was blocked for all types of traffic at Daya due to massive landslides.

Workers of Frontier Works organization have removed landslides debris from roadside and opened road for light traffic.

Meanwhile, passengers travelling on Karakorum Highway have requested the department concerned to restore traffic on KKH in Tatta Pani and Lal Padi for all types of traffic.

One way traffic has been restored in the said areas is creating problems as passengers are compelled to wait for hours in long queues.
