Islamabad: Pakistan and Iran have reaffirmed their commitment to further broaden bilateral cooperation in diverse fields. This commitment was solidified during a meeting between President Asif Ali Zardari and his Iranian counterpart, Dr. Masoud Pezeshkian, held in Islamabad on Sunday.
According to Radio Pakistan, President Zardari highlighted the fraternal relations between the two countries, which are founded on shared religion, culture, and mutual respect. He praised Iran's principled stance on regional issues and appreciated Tehran's consistent support for regional cooperation.
President Zardari expressed his gratitude for Iran's solidarity during critical moments and reaffirmed Pakistan's dedication to working closely with Iran towards a peaceful and prosperous future. Additionally, he extended his thanks to the Iranian Supreme Leader, Syed Ali Khamenei, for his unwavering support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Furthermore, President Zardari strongly condemned the unprovoked Israeli aggression against Iran and commended the bravery and unity of the Iranian nation during the recent twelve-day war.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed his appreciation for the support of Pakistan's leadership and people during the twelve-day war. He also acknowledged Pakistan's constructive role in advocating for de-escalation, dialogue, and diplomacy for the peaceful resolution of disputes.
