The first death anniversary of legendary actor, orator, author and broadcaster Zia Mohyeddin was observed on Tuesday. In a career spanning more than six decades in various disciplines, theatre remained Mohyeddin's lifetime passion. Zia Mohyeddin was amongst a few Pakistanis who performed in theatre and films outside the country. He delivered some of his most memorable performances in theHollywood epic Lawrence of Arabia, Behold the Pale Horse and Bombay Talkie. He also served in Radio Pakistan, Karachi as Sub-Editor. He also authored three books namely A Carrot is a Carrot, Theatrics and The God of My Idolatry Memories and Reflections. In recognition of his contribution to the field of art, he was awarded Hilal-e-Imtiaz and Sitara-e-Imtiaz. Source: Radio Pakistan
