Govt fully believes in freedom of expression: Information Minister

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain says Prime Minister Imran Khan's visit to Moscow will be a game changer and it will strengthen Pakistan's relations with Russia.

Talking to media in Pind Dadan Khan today (Saturday), he said Imran Khan's voice is powerful and his opinion on Islamophobia and region is heard worldwide.

Talking about opposition move for no-trust, he said opposition could not even prove its majority in Senate. He said no-trust move will face the failure.

Responding to a question on local bodies elections in Jhelum, he expressed hope that PTI would clean sweep in the coming local bodies elections.

Meanwhile, in a statement, felicitating the newly elected President of Multan Press Club Shakeel Anjum and other office bearers, Fawad Chaudhary said Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf government fully believes in the freedom of expression.

He hoped that the new body would play its due role for welfare of the journalist community.

Information Minister said under the Prime Minister’s ‘Apna Ghar’ scheme, journalists are being provided loans for houses on easy installments.

He said health cards facility is also being provided to the journalists.

World Day of Social Justice observed

The World Day of Social Justice is being observed today (Sunday).

The theme this year is “Achieving Social Justice through Formal Employment”.

World Day of Social Justice is recognizing the need to promote social justice which includes efforts to tackle issues such as poverty, exclusion, gender inequality, unemployment, human rights and social protections.

Prime Minister expected to visit Russia next week: FO

Foreign Office says Prime Minister Imran Khan is expected to visit Russia next week.

Talking to reporters in Islamabad on Friday, Foreign Office Spokesperson Asim Iftikhar said prime minister would visit Moscow at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Referring Russia-Ukraine crisis, the spokesperson hoped that continued engagement will lead to a diplomatic solution.

PM acting upon his vision to empower people on pattern of state of Madinah: Tarin

Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin has said Prime Minister is acting upon his vision to empower the people on the pattern of state of Madinah.

Speaking to Radio Pakistan's Current Affair Program, he said many schemes have been launched for common man like health card, Ehsaas and other schemes.

He said incentives have also been launched to facilitate overseas Pakistanis including granting them right to vote, Roshan Digital Accounts and resolving their issues related to property on priority basis.
