Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has said the Parliament of Pakistan is committed to intensify inter-parliamentary cooperation for regional prosperity.
He was talking to Acting Chair Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Ian Liddell-Grainger and Secretary General CPA Stephen Twigg in Islamabad on Tuesday.
The Speaker said Parliamentary interaction is vital for strengthening of democratic institutions.
While mentioning about initiatives taken by Parliament of Pakistan to fulfill the benchmark laid out by Democratic Legislatures self-Assessment, he said that this has become first Parliament to be fully accessible to Persons with Disabilities.
Ian Liddell-Grainger appreciated the steps taken by Pakistani Parliament to fulfill the bench marks set by CPA.
He commended the role of Pakistan to strengthen CPA in Aisa region.
