Govt working day and night in rescue, relief activities in flood-hit areas: Ahsan

Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal says government is working day and night in rescue and relief activities in the flood-hit areas across the country.

Addressing a news conference in Islamabad, he said Pakistan is facing the challenge of unprecedented climate change which played havoc in the country and other parts of South Asia.

Ahsan Iqbal said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced hundred billion rupees for three million flood affected families and process of disbursing 25,000 rupees to each family has already begun.

He said National Disaster Management Authority and the provincial governments are also working round the clock for the relief of the flood affected people.

The Minister said the federal government is committed to help the affected provinces standing on their feet after the devastation caused by the recent floods.
