Fasting helps Muslims develop discipline, improve self-control: Dr Shahid Tirmizi

Radio Pakistan's Special Ramadan Transmission continued on 25th consecutive day on Sunday to foster a sense of religious devotion among viewers, along with providing informative content on various aspects of fasting and health.

This special transmission can be accessed on all social media platforms of Radio Pakistan including Radio Pakistan Podcast.

Taking part in the transmission, Religious Scholar Dr Syed Muhammad Shahid Tirmizi said by prioritizing activities and utilizing time more efficiently during Ramadan, individuals can develop habits that lead to long-term productivity and success.

He said fasting requires discipline and self-control, which can be applied to other areas of life, such as work, study, and personal relationships.

Renowned Eye Specialist Muhammad Hanan said that during Ramadan, some individuals may experience eye-related problems such as dryness, irritation, and fatigue due to fasting.

He said these symptoms can be managed through adequate hydration, regular breaks from computer screens, and the use of eye drops or artificial tears.

Naat Khawan Phool Ehsaan Ali Qadri presented naat while Tilawat-e-Quran-e-Pak with translation is a regular feature of transmission.

Mohsin Naqvi directs for issuance of pending NOCs of petrol pumps

Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi has directed authorities concerned to issue the long pending NOCs of petrol pumps by first of next month across the province.

In a statement on Sunday, he said that employment opportunities will be generated for 30,000 youth with the construction of 1200 new petrol pumps.

Mohsin Naqvi also directed to ensure the transparency while issuing the NOCs as it will build the confidence of general public.

Session of AJK Legislative Assembly adjourned due to quorum

The session of AJK Legislative Assembly, scheduled to start in Muzaffarabad on Sunday at 2:00 pm, started with an almost two hours delay.

On pointing of quorum, the Speaker adjourned the session to meet again on Monday at 11:00 am.

The House will elect the leader of the House after AJK High Court disqualified former Prime Minister Sardar Tanveer Ilyas in a court contempt case on 11th April.

Sardar Tanveer Ilyas was elected from AJK Legislative Assembly Constituency, LA-15 Bagh-2.
