Roads’ closure adversely affecting general public: Interior Minister

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has appealed to local leaders and parliamentarians of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz to play their role in bringing out masses from difficulties being faced by them due to the closure of roads by PTI workers.

In a statement on Thursday, he said PTI workers are involved in closing roads under police protection and government protocol, adversely affecting the general public. He said this situation is disturbing people's businesses, their participation in matters relating to joy and mourning, as well as educational activities. He said patients are facing hardships in reaching hospitals.

Rana Sanaullah said a handful of PTI workers have been disturbing people for the last four days at the behest of the police. He said people's patience is running out due to the prevailing situation.

The Minister said we neither want any political confrontation nor will allow this, but we are afraid that people may now start accountability of Imran Khan's activists, who are hell-bent to create chaos and anarchy in the country.

Federal Govt to include declaration on finality of Prophethood in marriage registration form

National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf chairs the session

The Federal Government has assured inclusion of the Oath of finality of the Prophethood of Hazrat Muhammad [Peace Be Upon Him] in the marriage registration form in Islamabad Capital Territory on the pattern of NADRA and Passport forms.

The assurance was given by Parliamentary Secretary for Interior Muhammad Sajjad, while responding to a calling attention notice moved by Muhammad Jamal-ud-Din and others regarding non-inclusion of the Oath of finality of the Prophethood of Hazrat Muhammad [Peace Be Upon Him] in the marriage registration form in Islamabad Capital Territory on the pattern of NADRA and Passport forms, causing grave concern amongst the public.

The chair referred the matter to the concerned standing committee of the House for further action.

On the other hand, Leader of the Opposition Raja Riaz has appealed the Federal Government to ensure smooth and hassle free movement of the general public, which is being hampered by a political party with complete support of the Punjab Government.

Drawing attention of the National Assembly toward closure of roads by PTI activists, he said hooliganism in the name of long march is continuing in Pakistan under the direct supervision of the Punjab Police.

He said PTI and its leadership are conspiring to sabotage the upcoming visit of the Saudi Crown Prince.

The Leader of the Opposition demanded of the Federal Government to uphold law and order in the country.

Meanwhile, Majority of PTI’s members of the National Assembly has nominated Afzal Khan Dhandla as its parliamentary leader in the House.

This was announced by Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.

Earlier, the National Assembly resumed its session at the Parliament House in Islamabad on Thursday evening with Speaker Raja Pervaiz Ashraf in the chair.

Info Minister castigates PTI Chief for creating chaos, anarchy

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb says people have rejected PTI Chief Imran Khan's politics of rioting, disruption and hatred.

Responding to PTI Chairman Imran Khan's speech on Thursday, she said people have stopped listening to slander and lies. The Minister said Imran Khan has become the victim of frustration.

She said Imran Khan is taking names of Prime Minister and officers to keep him relevant.
