WHY ROSEN LAW: We encourage investors to select qualified counsel with a track record of success in leadership roles. Rosen Law Firm has achieved the largest ever securities class action settlement against a Chinese Company. Rosen Law Firm was Ranked No. 1 by ISS Securities Class Action Services for number of securities class action settlements in 2017. Mid-Term Exams to be Canceled in Islamabad’s Govt Schools

Following a week-long strike, the Federal Government Education Joint Action Committee (FGEJAC) has now decided to postpone the scheduled mid-term examinations in all the public schools and colleges in Islamabad.

The decision was taken during a meeting of the committee on Sunday, and it decided to continue boycotting academic activities in public schools and reschedule the upcoming mid-term examinations until its demands are met.

“The mid-term papers would be rescheduled once the demand of employees of the Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) to the government for withdrawal of clause 166 of the ICT Local Government Ordinance is met,” a spokesperson for the teachers’ body explained.

The FGEJAC aims to employ all the available tools to make this strike effective and use social media to convey the demand and vision of the protestors.

The federal government had placed 424 FDE institutions under the Municipal Corporation Islamabad (MCI) through an ordinance last month, under which the appointment of the FDE Director-General will also be made after consulting with the Mayor of Islamabad.

The move did not sit well with the FDE employees who had announced the protest against the ordinance last Tuesday (30 November) at their institutions.

The Chairman of the Committee, Fazal Maula, told the media that “no academic activity will take place in any government educational institution from today, and a complete boycott of classes will be observed”.

Meanwhile, teachers are fearful that the new ordinance will change employees’ statuses and will pave the way for the privatization of the institutions.

Sarfaraz Deletes Cryptic Tweet After Being Ignored for West Indies Series

The series of back-to-back disappointments over not being able to become a regular in the national side again caused former captain, Sarfaraz Ahmed, to upload a cryptic Tweet that was deleted later.

In the tweet, the 34-year-old penned a stanza in Urdu language and shared a collage of pictures in which he can be seen lifting the ICC’s Champions Trophy in 2017.

This isn’t the first time Sarfaraz has taken to Twitter to share such messages. In September last year, he also uploaded a stanza in Urdu after he came under severe criticism for his wicket-keeping errors in the T20I series against England.

In October 2019, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) not only removed Sarfaraz Ahmed from the captaincy of all three formats but also sidelined him from the national side.

Since then, he has featured for the team on a handful of occasions. Although Sarfaraz Ahmed was included in the Pakistan squad for the recently concluded ICC’s T20 World Cup, he never made it to the first XI as wicketkeeper batter, Muhammad Rizwan, kept him on the sidelines thanks to some magnificent performances.

He was included in the T20i squad for the Bangladesh tour and did feature in the third match where he scored 12 runs. He was then omitted from the Test squad against Bangladesh. He has been left out of the squad for the T20I and ODI home series against West Indies as well.

Here is Lahore Qalandars PSL 2022 Schedule

Lahore Qalandars will be determined to put in a much better performance this time around and make it to the playoffs for only the second time in their history. Lahore is the poorest performing franchise in Pakistan Super League (PSL) history, having finished outside the top four in five out of the six PSL seasons.

It is expected that Lahore will change their captain for the seventh edition of PSL with Pakistan’s premier left-arm pacer, Shaheen Afridi, the likely candidate to take the charge in place of Sohail Akhtar. This will be a welcome change for Lahore as it provides them with an opportunity to select a balanced squad in the PSL 2022 draft.

Qalandars will face Multan Sultans in their opening match of the campaign on 29 January at National Stadium Karachi. Their last group stage game will be against Peshawar Zalmi on 21 February at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore. Lahore will face arch-rivals Karachi Kings twice in the PSL group stage, once in Karachi and once in Lahore. The two teams will face off against each other on 30 January and 18 February.
