Two-day Spring-thaw simulation exercise organized by National Disaster Management Authority concluded in Islamabad today. Aimed at ensuring preparedness for emergencies and natural disasters, the exercise will also help improve coordination among all relevant emergency departments and welfare organizations during emergencies. It was attended by Provincial Disaster Management Authorities, Pakistan Meteorological Department, WAPDA, SUPARCO, National Highway Authority, Armed Forces, Rescue 1122, United Nations Agencies and representatives of welfare institutions. A variety of natural disasters and emergencies including drought, wildfires, and glacier lake outburst floods were simulated as part of the exercises. Source: Radio Pakistan
