Returning officers have issued the final list of the candidates contesting elections on 48 vacant seats of the Senate. According to a press release of the Election Commission, a total of 147 candidates submitted their nomination papers for these vacant seats. Out of these, eighteen candidates have been elected unopposed. These eighteen include seven each from Punjab and Balochistan on general quota, two on female and two from Ulema or technocrat quota. As per schedule issued by the commission, the contest on remaining 30 seats will be held on Tuesday. Source: Radio Pakistan
