Prime Minister Unveils National Regulatory Reforms to Boost Economy


Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif announced that the country has overcome its economic difficulties through strategic planning and relentless effort. Addressing the launch ceremony of the National Regulatory Reforms in Islamabad, he emphasized the importance of dedication and hard work to achieve national goals and turn aspirations into reality.



According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister described the introduction of the regulatory framework as a significant advancement, which aims to support the business community, industry, agriculture, and foreign direct investments from regions including Europe, the Far East, and the Middle East. He highlighted that the National Regulatory Reforms would address inefficiencies that lead to corruption and favoritism and emphasized that the recent tranche of $1.2 billion disbursed by the IMF to Pakistan reflects the confidence of international institutions.



Prime Minister Sharif stated that the government has tackled economic challenges wisely and is providing vocational training and international certification to the youth to enhance their employability. Regarding foreign policy, he noted that Pakistan enjoys strong relations with the United States and anticipates fruitful cooperation. He also acknowledged the United Kingdom as a valuable partner in Pakistan’s progress, alongside several Middle Eastern allies.



UK Minister’s of State for International Development, Baroness Jenny Chapman, commended Pakistan’s potential and recognized that the government’s economic reforms positively impact the business community, including UK investors. Prime Minister’s Special Assistant Haroon Akhtar added that the government is implementing reforms across all sectors to achieve sustainable development and growth. He highlighted the importance of competitiveness and innovation, along with the provision of necessary facilities, and noted that tariff reforms, regulatory framework innovation, and industrial revival have been strategically aligned.
