Lahore: The 8th edition of Pakistan Navy's Maritime Security Workshop concluded at Pakistan Navy War College in Lahore. Addressing the workshop, Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani commended the Pakistan Navy for its vital role in ensuring regional maritime security and safeguarding national maritime interests. According to Radio Pakistan, the Chairman Senate highlighted the vast potential of Pakistan's blue economy and the growing strategic importance of oceans in the 21st century. He stressed the need to enhance the nation's shipping and fishing sectors to support economic growth and socio-economic development. The annual Maritime Security Workshop brings together parliamentarians, policymakers, academics, entrepreneurs, Armed Forces officers, and media representatives to deepen national understanding of maritime security and the evolving dynamics of the wider Indian Ocean region.
