PM Shehbaz Sharif Urges Opposition to Engage in Dialogue

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has once again invited the opposition to negotiations, emphasizing the importance of dialogue for economic development and strengthening democracy. During a Federal Cabinet meeting held in Islamabad, he reiterated the government's openness to constructive discussions with the opposition and left the decision to engage in talks to them.

According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Sharif expressed satisfaction with the 18% rise in IT exports in July and highlighted the government's efforts to integrate digital technology across sectors. He underscored the necessity of fully digitizing the governance system and praised Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb for implementing a fixed tax scheme for retailers, instructing the FBR to ensure no harassment occurs.

The Prime Minister also commended the Petroleum Minister for the Rs. 32 per liter reduction in diesel prices, labeling it a positive development. Addressing regional concerns, he mentioned Pakistan's ongoing efforts to reduce tensions in the Gulf and Strait of Hormuz, stressing that regional stability is crucial for economic improvement.

In addition, the Federal Cabinet approved the National Adolescent and Youth Policy, proposed by the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination. This policy aims to empower Pakistan's youth through a framework focusing on education, employment, inclusiveness, and environment. For its implementation, the Pakistan Youth Development Council and the Federal Adolescent and Youth Agency will be established. The Prime Minister instructed that Cabinet members' suggestions be integrated into the policy framework.
