Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the people of Uzbekistan on the occasion of Eid ul Adha, while also praying for the peace and prosperity of the Muslim Ummah. In a telephone conversation, the Prime Minister expressed gratitude for Uzbekistan’s balanced stance during the recent Pakistan-India crisis, reiterating that Pakistan has consistently aimed for peace and stability in the region.
According to Radio Pakistan, both leaders expressed satisfaction with the positive momentum in their bilateral relations, reaffirming their commitment to enhancing cooperation in all areas, particularly regional connectivity, which remains a priority for both nations. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also expressed his anticipation of welcoming President Shavkat Mirziyoyev on an official visit to Pakistan soon. They agreed to maintain close cooperation in multilateral forums, particularly the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
President Mirziyoyev reciprocated the Prime Minister’s greetings, thanking him for the call and appreciating Pakistan’s efforts to uphold peace and security in the region. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Sharif also engaged in a telephone conversation with King Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa of Bahrain, extending warm Eid greetings and best wishes to the leadership and people of Bahrain.
During their discussion, both leaders prayed for peace and unity among Muslims and offered special prayers for the people of Gaza. The Prime Minister expressed gratitude for Bahrain’s balanced position during the Pakistan-India crisis and its call for restraint, de-escalation, and peace in South Asia. Emphasizing the close fraternal ties between Pakistan and Bahrain, he highlighted the potential for further enhancing bilateral cooperation and extended an invitation to King Hamad to visit Pakistan, which was graciously accepted. King Hamad reciprocated the Eid greetings and conveyed his best wishes for the people of Pakistan.
