Washington DC: Head of Pakistan’s Parliamentary delegation and Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, has expressed Pakistan’s willingness to engage in dialogue with India on all issues, including water rights and security. Speaking at a news conference in Washington DC, Zardari accused India of using water as a weapon, alleging that the deprivation of water to 240 million people constitutes an act of aggression.
According to Radio Pakistan, Zardari emphasized that India cannot unilaterally suspend the Indus Water Treaty, criticizing Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for what he described as an intimidating posture. He accused India of misleading the international community, including its own citizens, with false narratives.
Zardari further alleged that India is involved in terrorism within Pakistan, referencing the arrest of Indian Naval Officer Kulbhushan Jadhav in Balochistan. He claimed that during a recent conflict, Pakistan’s Air Force shot down six Indian fighter jets, a fact he says India took a month to acknowledge. He noted that while 20 Indian jets were targeted by the Pakistan Air Force, Pakistan exercised restraint and no Pakistani aircraft were damaged in the operation.
Emphasizing Pakistan’s desire for peace, Zardari reiterated the country’s readiness to engage in comprehensive talks with India. He also expressed gratitude to friendly nations for their support during the heightened tensions with India.
