US Ambassador Donald Blome called on Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari in Islamabad today. During the meeting, Pakistan reiterated its commitment to clean energy. In addition, Pakistan has requested US assistance in unlocking the Green Climate Fund, aiming to equip itself for the impending environmental challenges. The Ambassador, on the occasion, expressed interest of US based Companies in investing in renewable energy projects, aligning with Pakistan's goal to double the share of renewables in its energy mix over the next ten years under Sustainable Development Goal 7. Moreover, the Minister for Power highlighted the key parameters of Pakistan's upcoming "Fan Replacement Program," which is set to be initiated in the near future for energy conservation. He also invited USAID support for the implementation of conservation initiatives of Pakistan.
