New york: At the United Nations, Pakistan has expressed deep concern over the continued manifestation of Islamophobia in different parts of the world, evidenced in hatred, discrimination, and violence against Muslims. Pakistan’s First Secretary, Zulfikar Ali, highlighted these issues during an Interactive Dialogue at the General Assembly in New York.
According to Radio Pakistan, Zulfikar Ali emphasized that Islamophobia reaches alarming proportions when sanctioned by state apparatus, leading to the dehumanization of Muslims and resulting in their systematic marginalization and denial of fundamental human rights. He also reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the landmark outcome of the 2001 World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia, and Related Intolerance.
