He addressed a delegation from World Liberty Financial USA, led by CEO Zachary Witkoff, during their visit to Islamabad.
According to Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Sharif welcomed the delegation and shared his vision for a digital Pakistan aimed at enhancing connectivity, access, transparency, and openness for citizens. He expressed satisfaction with the increasing international interest in Pakistan's digital financial markets, noting the country's integration into global digital finance.
Zachary Witkoff expressed interest in collaborating with Pakistan to develop a secure and transparent digital payment infrastructure. He highlighted innovations in cross-border settlement and foreign exchange processes, praising Pakistan's policy framework for positioning the country as a significant player in global digital finance. Witkoff expressed a desire to deepen engagement with Pakistan to explore next-generation digital payment and cross-border finance innovations.
A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Government of Pakistan and SC Financial Technologies LLC, an affiliate of World Liberty Financial. This MoU aims to facilitate structured dialogue and enhance technical understanding of emerging digital payment architectures for cross-border transactions. The signing ceremony was attended by Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and CEO Zachary Witkoff, with Prime Minister Sharif and other dignitaries, including Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, witnessing the event.
