Islamabad: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif held a telephone conversation on Saturday with President of Egypt Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to exchange Eid-ul-Adha greetings. During the warm and cordial telephone call, the Prime Minister conveyed Eid wishes to the leadership, government, and the people of Egypt.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Prime Minister expressed his deep appreciation for Egypt’s constructive role and its efforts for peace during the recent Pakistan-India crisis. The situation in the Middle East was also discussed. While recalling his visit to Cairo in December last year for the D-8 Summit, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s desire to further strengthen and expand its existing friendly ties with Egypt across all spheres of mutual interest, particularly in trade, investment, and the health sector.
The Egyptian President warmly reciprocated the Prime Minister’s Eid-ul-Adha greetings and extended his best wishes to the people of Pakistan. He also said that Egypt was keen to strengthen its relationship with Pakistan and appreciated Pakistan’s efforts to maintain peace in South Asia.
