The National Assembly today passed a resolution extending felicitations to the President, the Prime Minister, the government and the people of Pakistan for successful holding of 23rd meeting of the Council of Government Heads of Shanghai Cooperation of Organization in Islamabad. The resolution was moved by Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar. The House paid tributes to Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq and former Speakers of the National Assembly for their role to promote regional cooperation. The resolution commended Pakistan's resolve to achieve goals and objectives of SCO. It recognized that the conduct of the SCO meeting projected Pakistan's positive image , expressing the confidence it will help promote regional trade as well as peace and stability. The House acknowledged the significant role of SCO on matters pertaining to political, economic, defence and security of the region. The resolution also commended the role of all the government institutions for su ccessful holding of the SCO meeting. The House will now meet tomorrow at 11 a.m. Source: Radio Pakistan
