Martyrdom anniversary of Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed, NH, being observed today

The 57th Martyrdom Anniversary of Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed, Nishan-e-Haider, is being observed on Monday.    

According to ISPR, a ceremony was held at the monument of Maj Aziz Bhatti Shaheed in Ladian district Gujrat. General Officer Commanding Maj Gen Haroon Ishaq Raja laid the floral wreath at the monument. A smartly turned out contingent of Pakistan Army presented the guard of honour. People from all walks of life and military officers attended the ceremony.                         

Maj Aziz Bhatti Shaheed was born in Hong Kong in 1928 and moved to Pakistan before independence in 1947, settling in Ladiyan village of district Gujrat.

In 1950, he joined Pakistan Army and was commissioned in Punjab Regiment.

On this day in 1965 during Indo-Pak War he embraced Shahadat while fighting bravely at Burki Lahore.
