Islamabad: Martyrdom anniversaries of prominent liberation leaders, Mirwaiz Molvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone, and martyrs of Hawal was observed in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Azad Jammu and Kashmir today.
According to Radio Pakistan, people from all walks of life are visiting the martyrs’ graveyard at Eidgah in Srinagar to offer fateha for all the Kashmiri martyrs.
In this connection, Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party spokesman Advocate Arshad Iqbal in a statement issued in Srinagar said that the Kashmiri people were indebted to the sacrifices of these great martyrs who laid down their lives for the cause of freedom from Indian occupation.
Meanwhile, Senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has expressed deep concern over unemployment of two point two million Kashmiri youth and rapidly escalating drug crisis in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing a student seminar at Islamia Higher Secondary School, Srinagar, he said clinical data and field studies show that approximately eleven per cent of youth have experimented with or are addicted to narcotic substances.
