Islamabad: The National Assembly was informed today that the government is encouraging and promoting solar power. Minister of State for Finance Bilal Azhar Kayani addressed the house during question hour, highlighting the attractiveness of solar power installation for citizens under the new prosumer regulations.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Minister of State emphasized the government's efforts to provide relief to the public despite limited resources. He pointed out that a fuel subsidy package worth one hundred and twenty-nine billion rupees was introduced to protect consumers from rising global oil prices, a consequence of ongoing conflicts in the Middle East. Furthermore, seven hundred and sixteen billion rupees have been allocated for the Benazir Income Support Program this fiscal year, aiming to assist over ten million families financially.
In response to a calling attention notice, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhary informed the assembly that development work on Sector 1-12 of Islamabad is nearing completion. The final phase of handing over possession is expected to commence in the coming weeks.
The house is scheduled to reconvene on Monday at five pm.
