Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephonic conversation with Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France, Jean-No«l Barrot. The discussion centered on the current regional situation and efforts to maintain peace and stability.
According to Radio Pakistan, the Deputy Prime Minister informed that Pakistan has shown restraint throughout the crisis and only exercised its right to self-defense, in line with the UN Charter and international law. He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to work responsibly for maintaining regional peace and security.
The French Minister conveyed condolences over the loss of innocent lives and welcomed the ceasefire understanding between Pakistan and India. He emphasized the importance of both sides exercising restraint. The conversation concluded with both leaders agreeing to maintain close contact, including through multilateral fora.
