Jhelum: The 26th death anniversary of renowned poet Syed Zameer Jafri was observed on Monday.

According to Radio Pakistan, Zameer Jafri was born on January 1, 1916, in Jhelum. He became famous for his Urdu comic poetry and also wrote humorous columns in newspapers and periodicals.

His literary contributions include about seventy-eight published books of poetry and prose, showcasing a wide range of creative works. Zameer Jafri passed away on this day in 1999.
