Fawad emphasizes joint forum of executive, judiciary to sort out problems

Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has stressed the need for a specific forum, where the executive and the judiciary can jointly discuss to find solutions to various problems.

He was talking to the media in the federal capital on Tuesday evening after attending a high-level meeting with Chief Justice Islamabad High Court Athar Minallah.

The Minister said a consultation was held with the Chief Justice and the Registrar of the Islamabad High Court regarding the pending cases. He said Chairman Federal Board of Revenue told the meeting that cases involving a collective amount of 233 billion rupees are pending before the Islamabad High Court. He, however, said that FBR lawyers not the court are the main reason behind the pendency of these cases.

Regarding the prevailing political situation in the country, Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said the government is fully prepared to face a no-confidence motion from the opposition, but it seems that the opposition is unable to table any such resolution in the parliament.
