Islamabad: A two-day Digital Foreign Direct Investment (DFDI) Forum is set to begin in Islamabad on Tuesday. Talking to the foreign media in Islamabad on Monday, Minister for Information Technology Shaza Fatima Khawaja announced that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will serve as the chief guest at the opening session.
According to Radio Pakistan, the forum aims to highlight the nation’s potential in the realm of startups and IT companies. Minister Shaza Fatima remarked that the IT industry in the country has been growing at a rapid pace, with export growth ranging between twenty-four and twenty-seven percent. IT exports are projected to reach four billion dollars this fiscal year.
The Minister further stated that the sector’s target is to achieve an economic impact of twenty-five billion dollars over the next four years. She underscored the nation’s shift towards a cashless economy, asserting that digital payments will enhance transparency and efficiency.
