APHC Condemns Human Rights Violations by Indian Troops in IIOJ&K

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has strongly condemned the escalating human rights violations by Indian forces in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. APHC spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, in a statement issued in Srinagar, highlighted the intensified cordon and search operations, arbitrary detentions, confiscation of civilian properties, demolition of homes, and sacking of Muslim employees, which have made life unbearable for the Kashmiris. These actions have left the residents in a perpetual state of fear and distress.

According to Radio Pakistan, the APHC has called upon international bodies such as the United Nations, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and global human rights organizations to urgently address the deteriorating situation in the region and hold India accountable for its actions. The spokesperson emphasized the need for international intervention to alleviate the grave humanitarian crisis facing the people of Kashmir.

In a related development, the Delhi High Court has instructed Tihar Jail authorities to ensure that the illegally detained Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Mohammad Yasin Malik, receives proper and timely medical treatment. This directive comes amidst growing concerns over the welfare of political detainees in the region.

Meanwhile, the National Conference Working Committee, during its two-day meeting at the party headquarters in Srinagar, has urged the Indian government to immediately restore full statehood to IIOJK, as promised on the floor of the parliament. The call for restoring statehood reflects ongoing political demands for greater autonomy and governance rights for the region.
