Ishaq Dar Calls on Ulema to Foster Unity in Muslim Ummah


Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has called upon Ulema and religious scholars to advocate for unity and solidarity within the Muslim Ummah. He made these remarks while speaking at the concluding ceremony of the First International Qira’at Competition held in Islamabad.



According to Radio Pakistan, Ishaq Dar emphasized that every Muslim state possesses unique strengths, and by uniting and utilizing these collective strengths, the Muslim Ummah can become an indomitable force. He reiterated that Islam is a religion of peace and unequivocally opposes terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.



The Deputy Prime Minister highlighted the need for all states to collaborate in eradicating the menace of terrorism, as ordained by Allah Almighty. Addressing the resurgence of terrorist incidents in Pakistan, he affirmed the nation’s renewed commitment and resolve to eliminate this threat.



Ishaq Dar expressed his appreciation for the Ministry of Religious Affairs for organizing the International Qira’at competition, which brought together Qaris from across the Muslim world. He suggested that future competitions should invite Qaris from around the globe to participate. He urged the participants, especially young Qaris, to strengthen their connection with the Quran and thanked the delegates and envoys from participating countries for reinforcing the fraternal bond of the Muslim Ummah.



Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousuf also spoke at the ceremony, noting that the participation of reciters from thirty-seven Islamic countries in Pakistan’s first international Qira’at competition sent a strong message of unity, peace, and global solidarity. He announced that the Qira’at competition would continue in the coming years, emphasizing that such events help promote and spread the true message of the Holy Quran.
