21st Anniversary of 2005 Earthquake Observed in Azad Jammu and Kashmir

Muzaffarabad:In Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the 21st anniversary of the catastrophic 2005 earthquake is being observed today, paying tribute to the martyrs and expressing solidarity with the victims.

According to Radio Pakistan, the day began with special prayers in mosques for the souls of the martyrs, as well as for the prosperity and development of the country and the early liberation of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

The main prayer ceremony took place at the University College Ground in Muzaffarabad, attended by AJK Prime Minister Barrister Iftikhar Gilani. Addressing the event, the Prime Minister emphasized that the memory of the thousands of lives lost in the 2005 earthquake remains vivid. He affirmed the commitment to respond effectively to any future natural calamities and to allocate government resources accordingly.
