Muharram moon not sighted, Ashura on July 17

The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee has announced that the Crescent of Muharam-Ul-Haram 1446 AH was not sighted. This announcement was made by the Chairman Ruet-i-Hilal Committee Moulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad at a press conference in Quetta this evening. He said that the 1st Muharam-Ul-Haram will be on Monday and Ashura will be observed on 17th of this month. Source: Radio Pakistan

Govt taking practical measures to uplift fishing industry in Balochistan

The government is taking practical measures to uplift the fishing industry in Balochistan. A marine ambulance service has been started to provide timely assistance to fishermen stranded in the sea. The digitization of the Fisheries Department cost one hundred million rupees. According to estimates, fresh water fisheries production in Balochistan is five point seven percent. The construction of one hundred dams in the province is playing an important role in the development of the fishing industry. Work on these dams was started back in 2008. Sixty six dams have so far been completed. Which have a storage capacity of 0.320 million acre feet. These dams have the capacity to produce 273 million tonnes of fish. Mirani and Hub dams alone have the capacity to produce one thousand metric tons of fish. The establishment of fish hatcheries is also promoting fish farming. Source: Radio Pakistan

MoFA to start Apostille legalization process tomorrow

Apostille legalization process will be opened from Monday for walk-ins at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Islamabad and its liaison offices in Lahore and Karachi. According to the Foreign Office, no appointments are required in this regard. According to new fee structure for Apostille certification the fee for Personal and Educational Documents is three thousand rupees per document. Three-day Mango Festival begins in Karachi

A three-day 'Family Mango Festival and Exhibition' began at the Pakistan Maritime Museum in Karachi today. The event is being organized by Sindh Agriculture University TandoJam in collaboration with the Pakistan Maritime Museum, TCN Executive Forum and various institutions and farms. The exhibition features a poster presentation on mangoes, panel discussion, and a comprehensive technical session will also be held to cover the sustainable mango farming practices. The festival features a variety of stalls related to mangoes especially those showcasing mango by-products, experimental and demonstration stalls for mango grafting, organic products and cultural items from Sindh particularly Thar. Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee to meet in Quetta on Saturday

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet in Quetta tomorrow for sighting the Crescent of Muharram-ul-Haram 1446 Hijri. Chairman of the Committee Moulana Abdul Khabir Azad will preside over the meeting.
