Int’l Asteroid Day being observed today

International Asteroid Day is being observed across the globe today. The day is observed to raise public awareness about the threat posed by near-Earth objects like asteroids or comets to the earth and its population. KP govt launches projects to boost socio-economic condition of people: CM

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur says the government has launched a number of development projects across the province to improve the socio-economic condition of the general public. Talking to a delegation of the World Bank led by Country Director Najy Benhassine in Peshawar, he said provincial government greatly values the financial assistance provided by the World Bank for the welfare of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Ali Amin Gandapur said the government is considering launching Education Card for students on the pattern of health card in the province. President gives assent to Finance Bill 2024-25

President Asif Ali Zardari has accorded his approval to Finance Bill 2024 on advice of the Prime Minister under Article 75 of the Constitution. According to the press release issued by the President Secretariat, the Finance Bill will be effective from tomorrow. On June 28, the National Assembly passed the Finance Bill, 2024 with certain amendments, adopting the financial proposals for the fiscal year beginning on July 01, 2024. Source: Radio Pakistan

Chairmen of NA’s Standing Committees elected

National Assembly's Standing Committee on Information Technology and Telecommunication has unanimously elected Syed Amin ul Haq, MNA as its Chairman. The election was held during meeting of the standing committee in Islamabad. Similarly, the Standing Committee on Commerce unanimously elected Muhammad Jawed Hanif Khan as its chairman while the Standing Committees on Privatization, and Industries and Production unanimously elected MNAs Dr Muhammad Farooq Sattar and Syed Hafeezuddin respectively as chairmen. AJK Assembly approves budget for fiscal year 2024-25

The AJK Legislative Assembly in its session held in Muzaffarabad today approved the budget for the fiscal year 2024-25. All thirty-two demands for grants of expenses for next financial year relating to different departments amounting to 264.3 billion rupees have been approved already in addition to 32 demands for grants of the revised estimates of fiscal year 2023-24. Finance minister Abdul Majid Khan congratulated the members and thanked the federal government for enhancing assistance of the AJK to 73.9 billion for the next year. Source: Radio Pakistan

Registration of representatives for “Maryam Ki Dastak” program starts

Punjab government has started registration of representatives being engaged for "Maryam Ki Dastak" program. In a statement, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said the scope of program will be gradually expanded to all districts by the end of year. She said working to increase services of the program from ten to sixty-five has been initiated. She said the public will have access to all services from their homes. Source: Radio Pakistan
