Over 97,000 Pakistani pilgrims arrive in Saudi Arabia

More than 97,000 pilgrims have arrived in Saudi Arabia under both Government and Private Hajj schemes. Radio Pakistan Correspondent in Makkah Bilal Khan Mehsud reports that so far, 65,000 pilgrims have arrived via 243 flights under the government scheme, while more than 36,402 have arrived under the private scheme. The last flight from Pakistan will operate on Sunday which will end the month-long operation. The overall Hajj operation was continuing as per schedule and all Pakistani pilgrims who arrived in the holy land were performing their routine prayers in complete peace and discipline under the vibrant facilitation of the Pakistan Hajj Mission and the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The PHM in Makkah and Ministry of Religious Affairs have advised the general public to avoid rumours creating confusion regarding any discomfort to the guests of Allah Almighty. Joint Secretary of the MoRA, Sajjad Haider Yaldram, in a video message, requested Pakistani pilgrims to use the ministry's online mobile service, 'Pak Hajj App,' to lodge their complaints or suggestions, instead of manual ones. He said all the online complaints and suggestions are directly monitored by the Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Chaudhry Salik Hussain and all senior officers to ensure their prompt resolution. He said if the pilgrims face any issue while lodging online complaints, they should approach the PHM Moavineen deployed at each residential building for facilitation. He explained that complaints could be lodged through the Pak Hajj App, WhatsApp, or by calling the Pakistan Hajj Mission's helpline toll-free numbers: 00923376510003, 00923376510004, 00923376510005, and 00923063332555. Spokesman of the MoRA Muhammad Umer Butt told Radio Pakistan that the ministry has deployed 375 doctors and paramedical staff and 511 assistants in Makkah to serve the pilgrims free of cost. Pakistan to send students to China for training in agriculture

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has announced to send one thousand students to China for advanced training in agriculture. He made the announcement during his visit to Yangling Agricultural Demonstration Base in Xi'an, China today. The Prime Minister also invited the North West Agriculture and Forestry University to open a campus in Pakistan and directed the Pakistan's Ambassador to China and relevant authorities to finalize these projects with the Chinese authorities. On the occasion, the Prime Minister was given a tour of various parts of Yangling Base and Pakistan Pavilion. He was shown Pakistani products at the pavilion. Interacting with the officials of Yangling Base, the Prime Minister said Pakistan is striving to modernize its agriculture sector to increase per acre yield of crops. He said increasing the agricultural exports is one of our top most priorities. The Prime Minister was given a briefing about the working of the Yangling Base. He was told that 26 countries are collaborating in agricultural research at the Base and Pakistan was the first one to participate. He was also briefed about Pakistani universities and scientists taking part in research at Yangling Base. Deputy PM holds meeting with Foreign Minister of Malaysia

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar held a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Malaysia, Dato' Seri Utama Haji Mohamad Bin Haji Hasan, on the margins of the Meeting of the D-8 CFM held in Istanbul, Trkiye. The two Ministers discussed bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, working towards further strengthening ties. The Malaysian Foreign Minister congratulated Deputy Prime Minister Dar on Pakistan's election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council. Chaudhry Salik lauds efforts taken by ILO to support workers

Minister for Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development, Chaudhry Salik Hussain has lauded the efforts taken by the International Labour Organization to support workers. Addressing the 112th International Labour Conference in Geneva, the Minister appreciated the ILO's initiatives to mitigate the adverse effects of the crises being faced by Gaza and the West Bank. He emphasized the dire situation in the occupied Arab Territories, particularly in Palestine, and stressed the failure of the multilateral system. Delivering a statement on behalf of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Chaudhry Salik Hussain stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire and the unobstructed delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza. Qatar lauds Pakistan Navy in ensuring maritime security

Qatar has lauded the role of Pakistan Navy in ensuring maritime security of the region. This came at meetings of Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf with Chief of Staff of Qatari Forces and Commander Qatari Emiri Navy during his visit to Qatar. The Naval Chief highlighted Pakistan Navy's efforts for regional maritime peace and stability through participation in Maritime Security Patrol and Combined Maritime Forces. During the meetings, defence relations, bilateral maritime cooperation, matters of mutual interest and regional maritime security were discussed. The Naval Chief also visited Mohammed Bin Ghanem Al Ghanem Maritime Academy, Umm Al Houl Naval Base and Qatari Emiri Navy ships.
