‘Govt has proven track record of pulling economy out of crises’

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar has said that present government has a proven track record of pulling the country's economy out of crisis. Addressing an event organized of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ishaq Dar said when PML-N government was formed in 2013, all the international rating agencies and financial institutions were indicating that Pakistan's economy was on the brink of default and that it would take 10 to 12 years to stabilize. He said that the PML-N government managed to stabilize the economy within three years due to its prudent policies. Ishaq Dar said Pakistan faced international sanctions after performing successful nuclear tests in 1998, while the then PML-N government revived the economy within eight months. Ceremony held on completion of 2nd batch of Digi Skills Program in Hassan Khel, KP

A ceremony was held on the completion of the second batch of Digi Skills Program in Hassan Khel area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Under the programme, a total of two hundred eighty men and women completed training in online skills such as freelancing, AutoCAD and graphics designing. Registration on the part of Pakistan Army for next batch is underway. Salik lauds KSA over special arrangements for Pakistani pilgrims

Minister of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Chaudhry Salik Hussain along with delegation met his Saudi counterpart Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan al-Rabiyyah at the Mina Camp office in Makkah . Radio Pakistan Correspondent in Makkah, Bilal Khan Mehsud reports that Chaudhary Salik Hussain expressed pleasure over the special arrangements made for the convenience of Pakistani pilgrims. He said Saudi government is introducing innovation and latest facilities for Hajj every year. In response, the Saudi Minister for Hajj and Umrah said all the facilities will be provided to Pakistan Hajj Mission in Mina and Arafat. He also assured the Pakistani delegation that all possible support will be extended to Pakistan Hajj Mission. Romina for measures against heatwave, monsoon floods

Prime Minister's Coordinator on Climate Change Romina Khurshid Alam has called for taking measures to protect lives, properties and livelihoods of the people from ongoing heatwave and possible monsoon floods. Chairing a meeting on Global Warming and Heatwaves in Islamabad today, she emphasized that sufficient stocks of disaster relief items should be maintained. Romina Khurshid Alam said adverse socio-economic impacts of the disasters are unlikely to be overcome as long as the well-coordinated disaster risk mitigation or prevention measures are not taken jointly by all federal and provincial departments.
