ICC Men’s T-20 WC: Namibia defeat Oman in Super over

In the ICC Men's T-20 World Cup 2024, Namibia defeated Oman in Super over at Bridgetown today. Batting first, Oman scored 109 in 19.4 overs with all out. In reply, Namibia also scored 109 with the loss of 6 wickets in stipulated 20 overs. Namibia grabbed victory in super over by setting a target of 21. Oman could only score 10 runs in reply. Chairman Senate advocates sports for social transformation

Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has called for making concerted efforts to use sports as a vehicle for positive change and transformation in society. He expressed these views while talking to an international football delegation in Islamabad today. The Chairman said football is not an ordinary sport, but a bridge that transcends boundaries, unites cultures, and ignites passion in the hearts of millions," Gilani said. Highlighting the potential Pakistan has in football, he remarked that there is no dearth of talent and passion. He said all we need is professional coaching to produce world-class players and put Pakistan on the map of international football. The Chairman Senate acknowledged the pivotal role of the Pakistan Football League (PFL) UK in pioneering international football in Pakistan, their visionary initiatives, including the impactful "Football 4 Hope." He assured his all-out support for the promotion of state-of-the-art football facilities and nurturing of local talent in Pakistan. In his closing remarks, the Chairman Senate thanked Chairman Pakistan Football League UK Farhan Ahmed Junejo, and other distinguished representatives of PFL for their efforts to promote football in Pakistan Speaking on the occasion, famous football star and official ambassador of the Pakistan Football League Michael Owen observed that Pakistan has huge potential in sports and such opportunities would help explore hidden talent, bringing youth into the game of football. He said ten teams would be launched, which include Multan, Lahore, Peshawar, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Quetta, Islamabad, and Northern Avengers to take part in football events. It is pertinent to mention that ten International Clubs are visiting Pakistan to promote football. FIH Hockey Nations Cup: Pakistan beat Canada by 8-1 goals

Pakistan beat Canada by eight goals to one in a pool match of FIH Hockey Nations Cup at Gniezno in Poland today. ICC Men’s T-20 WC: South Africa beat Sri Lanka by 6 wickets

In 4th match of the ICC Men's T-20 World Cup 2024, South Africa beat Sri Lanka by six wickets in New York on Monday. Batting first, Sri Lanka scored 77 runs and were all out in 19.1 overs. In reply, South Africa achieved the target in 16.2 overs for the loss of four wickets. In the fifth match of the ICC men's T-20 World Cup, Afghanistan will take on Uganda tomorrow. PTDC to organize 2-day Travel and Tourism Symposium in Islamabad next week

Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation in partnership with World Bank will organize a two-day Pakistan Travel and Tourism Symposium in Islamabad on 10th and 11th of this month. According to a PTDC official, symposium would be focused on the theme " Building National Economy through Tourism". The event would showcase Pakistan's rich tourism potential to create government-to-government, business-to-business and Government-to-Business linkages among the industry stakeholders. Over 400 national and international tourism professionals, industry experts, and decision-makers are expected to share their ideas for the development of a future roadmap for the sustainable growth of the tourism industry of Pakistan.
