Govt implementing drastic measures for economic stability: Deputy PM

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has said a committee has been constituted to address the challenges faced by medical education sector in the country. Addressing first convocation of HBS Medical and Dental College in Islamabad today, he said the committee will assess demand and supply gap of medical education in the country. Deputy Prime Minister said government has emphasized the provision of accessible and affordable healthcare facilities for everyone. He said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has undertaken various initiatives for strengthening medical education, enhancement of faculty and upgradation of medical infrastructure. Ishaq Dar said we can transform Pakistan into a developed and prosperous country through collective efforts. He said the government has taken drastic steps to ensure economic turnaround. The Deputy Prime Minister further stressed for making sincere efforts to become a member of G20. He said things are turning around and Pakistan is not more in isolation among the comity of nations as claimed by certain critics. Ishaq Dar expressed the confidence that the incumbent government will take the country to a new level of economic prosperity as envisaged by Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal. Beijing awaits PM Shehbaz’s visit for enhanced joint development: Mao Ning

The Chinese Foreign Ministry says Beijing looks forward to the visit of Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, considering it as an opportunity to promote greater joint development. At her regular briefing in Beijing, Spokesperson Mao Ning said the visit would boost the China-Pakistan all-weather strategic partnership. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will pay an official visit of China from June Tuesday to Saturday on the invitation of Chinese Premier Li Qiang. Islamabad Police traces Vietnamese ambassador’s wife within four hours

Islamabad Police have traced the wife of the Vietnamese ambassador within four hours. In a statement, the Police spokesperson said seven teams were working on it using Safe City cameras and cellular technology. The woman was sent home along with her husband. Pakistan to welcome UK’s support to tackle cybercrimes’ challenge: Interior Minister

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said Pakistan will welcome UK's support to tackle the challenge of cybercrimes. He made the remarks during his meetings with Director General of the National Crime Agency James Babbage and Director General National Security of Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office Jonathan Allen in London. It was decided during the meetings that Pakistani officers will be trained by the National Crime Agency regarding cybercrimes and counter-narcotics. The Interior Minister emphasized the need for greater collaboration between the two countries in the fight against drugs. ICC Men’s T-20 WC: US to face Canada in Dallas tomorrow

The first match of ICC Men's T-20 World Cup 2024 will be played between United States of America and Canada in Dallas tomorrow. The match will start at half past five in the morning. Pakistan will play their first match against United States of America on Thursday. However, all eyes are on the clash between the longtime rivals -India and Pakistan-on June 9. All seats are already sold out, with ticket prices shooting up from three hundred dollars to two-thousand five hundred dollars. Hotels close to the stadium had already been booked. The month-long festival is being shared between venues in Texas, Florida, New York and the Caribbean. Meanwhile, the United Nations has welcomed the historic T20 Cricket World Cup with the hope that the mega event will advance the cause of peace.
