Day-long seminar by SIFC’s GPI to be held in Rawalpindi on Tuesday

A day-long seminar is being organized by Special Investment Facilitation Council's Green Pakistan Initiative at Pir Mehr Ali Shah Arid Agriculture University in Rawalpindi on Tuesday. The objective of this seminar is to educate the participants about Plant for Pakistan project and to encourage the youth to be a part of this campaign. During the seminar, the participants will also be informed about the land structure and forests of Pakistan. Forestry, Agriculture, Livestock and related experts have been invited to the seminar. On the occasion Plant for Pakistan app will be launched. The Plant for Pakistan project has diverse themes including ecosystem restoration, combating climate change, plantation, discouraging water wastage, and involving the youth as well as the entire society in the plantation drive. Power Minister unveils NEPRA’s quarterly tariff adjustment Plan

Minister for Power Sardar Awais Leghari says NEPRA makes quarterly tariff adjustment, which is charged in the next three months' bills. In a statement today, he said the adjustment for the second quarter of the current year 2023-24 was 2.75 rupees, which is being charged in April, May and June. The Minister said NEPRA has fixed the third quarter adjustment which will be enforced in next three months. This adjustment will be 1.90 rupees for next month but 0.93 rupees for July and August. Thus, a total of 4.65 rupees will be charged as quarterly adjustment in June. He further said that the total cost of quarterly adjustment in July and August bills will come down from 4.65 to 0.93 rupees, which is a decrease of 3.72 rupees. Source: Radio Pakistan

Brigadier Ameer Umrani assumes temporary command of UNISFA

Pakistan's Brigadier Ameer Muhammad Umrani has temporarily taken over the command of the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei. During a regular briefing at UN Headquarters in New York, spokesperson Stephane Dujarric announced the decision. Ishaq Dar praises IG Islamabad for swift rescue of Vietnamese envoy’s wife

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has congratulated IG Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and his team for the quick rescue of the wife of the Vietnamese Ambassador. In his telephonic conversation with the IG Islamabad Police, Ishaq Dar said Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and his team immediately solved the problem using modern technology. Pakistan Coast Guards recover narcotics during snap checking in Balochistan

Pakistan Coast Guards has recovered 5490 kilogram of betel nut, 533 packets of gutka and 591 sticks of foreign cigarettes from a passenger coach on the Quetta-Karachi highway. Besides, twelve illegal immigrants were arrested from different passenger coaches at Panwan check post in Gwadar. PDMA issues guidelines to protect sacrificial animals from heat wave

Punjab Disaster Management Authority has issued guidelines to protect sacrificial animals from heat wave on the occasion of the Eid-ul-Azha. In a statement, the PDMA issued instructions to ensure the establishment of temporary sheds in the markets. It was asked to ensure the supply of water for the animals in the markets besides establishment of health centers in animal markets. Source: Radio Pakistan
