Interior Minister announces five initiatives for convenience of Islamabad’s residents

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced five initiatives for the convenience of the residents of federal capital territory. During a visit to CDA Headquarters in Islamabad, he declared the establishment of Capital Emergency Services, Capital Waste Management Company, Capital Safe City Authority and Central Business District in Islamabad. He said Capital WASA will also be established for convenience of the people of Islamabad. Mohsin Naqvi said Islamabad will be made a model city. The Interior Minister also met the staff of Ambulance Service 1122 and Fire Brigade, urging them to perform their duties diligently. The Interior Minister said Ambulance, fire brigade and rescue service will be merged under Capital Emergency Services. He said the number of ambulances will be enhanced. Source: Radio Pakistan

Peshawar encounter: Martyred security forces laid to rest with full military honour

Martyrs of security forces, who embraced martyrdom during intense exchange of firing in Bagh area of Peshawar yesterday, were laid to rest with full military honour in their respective native areas. They include; Naik Muhammad Ashfaq Butt Shaheed, Lance Naik Syed Danish Afkar Shaheed, Sepoy Taimoor Malik Shaheed, Sepoy Nadir Sagheer Shaheed, and Sepoy Muhammad Yaseen Shaheed. Senior officers and jawans of the Pakistan Army, relatives and family members of martyrs as well as a large number of local people attended the funeral prayers. Source: Radio Pakistan

Prime Minister takes notice of fire on Margalla hills

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has taken the notice of fire on Margalla hills. The Prime Minister directed the relevant authorities to mobilize quickly and start operations to control the fire. The Prime Minister said it should be ensured that no human life get affected by the fire. Meanwhile, operation to extinguish fire on Trails 3 and 5 of Margalla hills, Islamabad is underway. Six aviation squadrons and helicopters of Pakistan Army are also participating in the fire extinguishing operation. The fire broke out at three places between Trails 3 and 5 near Quaid-e-Azam University and Saidpur. Teams on ground are facing difficulties in extinguishing the fire. The reasons for fire are not yet known, however the NDMA has advised people to exercise caution, as both natural factors and human activity can potentially ignite forest fires. Pak envoy presents Hilal-i-Quaid-i-Azam medal to IDB Chairman

Ambassador of Pakistan to Saudi Arabia Ahmad Farooq has presented 'Hilal-i-Quaid-i-Azam' medal to Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank Group Dr. Muhammad Al-Jasser in Jeddah. The ceremony was attended by representatives from Pakistan's missions in Saudi Arabia and to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Acting President, PM and armed forces felicitate nation on Youm-e-Takbeer

The Acting President, the Prime Minister and the Services Chiefs have felicitated the nation on the observance of the 26th anniversary of Youm-e-Takbeer. In his message on the day, Acting President Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani has reiterated the resolve to continue working towards a peaceful and stable world. He said, on this day, we successfully demonstrated our nuclear capabilities and joined the ranks of nuclear powers. The Acting President said that Youm-e-Takbeer serves as a testament to our nation's resilience, unwavering determination, and commitment to maintaining regional peace and stability. He said Pakistan, as a responsible nuclear state, firmly believes in the peaceful resolution of conflicts. Congratulating the nation on Youm-e-Takbeer in his message on social media platform X, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the day symbolizes the collective effort of all facets of national power. The Prime Minister said on this day, the entire nation vowed for the integrity of this country that no comprom ise will be made by accepting any kind of external pressure on country's defense. He said Youm-e-Takbeer is a day to pay tribute to the then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the Pakistan Army's initiative to make country's defense impregnable. The Prime Minister also paid tribute to former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and scientists for their role in initiating and continuing Pakistan's nuclear programme. The Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and the Services Chiefs have also felicitated the nation on Youm-e-Takbeer. In a statement, ISPR said that Armed Forces pay tribute to the unwavering dedication and selfless sacrifices of all those who contributed to this remarkable feat, achieved against overwhelming odds. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has stated that Youm-e-Takbeer is a da y of pride not only for the Pakistani nation but also for the Islamic world. PM felicitates Nawaz Sharif on re-election as PML-N President

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif felicitated Nawaz Sharif on his re-election as party President on behalf of the whole General Council. Addressing a meeting of the PML-N General Council in Lahore today, the Prime Minister said his return to the Presidency is result of Nawaz Sharif's passion to serve the public. Prime Minister said he had accepted the Presidency of PML-N temporarily and happy to return the responsibility to Nawaz Sharif today. He said PML-N led government needs guidance from Nawaz Sharif to serve the public. Shehbaz Sharif said the present government and its allies are working tirelessly to resolve peoples' problems. He criticized PTI founder for targeting state institutions and spreading propaganda against them. Prime Minister urged the judiciary to take notice of these nefarious attempts to destabilize the country. Earlier, addressing the meeting, senior party leader Ishaq Dar said that Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif had assumed post of Presidentship of PML N temporarily till the return of Nawaz Sharif. On the occasion, party' General Council unanimously passed the resolution and expressed their complete confidence in the leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. Addressing the party' General Council meeting, newly elected President of PML N, Muhammad Nawaz Sharif thanked the party leadership and workers on his re-election. He appreciated role of Shehbaz Sharif as party President to keep the party strong in tough times. He said Shehbaz Sharif led Federal Government is doing well, price hike has lowered and the economy improved significantly. He said there was no price hike during his last tenure as Prime Minister.
