NDMA warns public of fake website ‘Federal Emergency Response Unit-Pakistan’

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has warned the public to be aware of a website titled 'Federal Emergency Response Unit-Pakistan' which is falsely representing the organization. In a statement, the Authority said the website has been unlawfully advertising job vacancies and soliciting application processing fees. NDMA advises precaution in wake of rains, dust storms till June 1

The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a weather alert warning of rain accompanied by dust, wind, and thunderstorms in the upper regions of the country from Tuesday to Saturday. The alert advises all concerned institutions to exercise caution during this period. The NDMA has highlighted the risk of landslides and mudslides that could disrupt roads and traffic systems in upland areas. Heavy rain in these regions may also cause flooding in local rivers and nullahs, prompting the NDMA to instruct relevant departments to remain vigilant. Local emergency departments have been directed to keep personnel and machinery on standby to handle any potential floods or landslides. The district administration has been tasked with evacuating residents from slums and relocating them to safer areas to prevent casualties and property damage. There is also concern over the potential damage to standing crops, electricity poles, and other structures due to strong winds. The NDMA has advised the public t o avoid taking shelter in weak structures during the rain and to be cautious of the increased risk of lightning strikes during thunderstorms. Farmers are urged to adjust their cropping routines in accordance with the anticipated weather conditions. Tourists and travelers in mountainous regions should exercise caution and seek weather and route information from local authorities before embarking on their journeys. PDMA issues alert for heavy rains, dusty winds in Punjab, KP from tonight

Provincial Disaster Management authorities of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have issued alerts for heavy rains and dusty winds in different districts from tonight to Saturday. In a statement today, Director General Punjab Disaster Management Authority Irfan Ali Kathia said standing crops are feared to be damaged by the storms. The DG urged the people to stay in safe places to avoid lightning and in case of emergency contact PDMA Helpline 1129 or Rescue 1122. Meanwhile, according to PDMA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, all the Deputy Commissioners have been advised to take precautionary measures to avoid any human and material losses during the forecast period. The Authority also advised all the relevant departments to stay alert for restoring road links for traffic in concerned districts. KP Health Minister launches DHI System-2

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Minister Syed Qasim Ali Shah launched the District Health Information (DHI) System-2 for four districts of the province in Peshawar today. The digitalization of health system was launched for Abbottabad, Lower Dir, Mardan and Lakki Marwat.
