COAS reaffirms nation’s resolve to fight terrorism with full vigor

Army Chief General Syed Asim Munir has reaffirmed the resolve of the Nation to fight the terrorism with full vigor and spirit. He expressed this resolve after attending the funeral prayer of martyred soldiers in Peshawar today. The Army Chief reached Peshawar today and offered funeral prayer of Sepoy Taimoor Shaheed, Sepoy Nadir Sagheer Shaheed, Sepoy Muhammad Yaseen Shaheed, Lance Naik Syed Danish Afkar Shaheed and Naik Ashfaq Butt Shaheed, who embraced martyrdom during an intense exchange of fire with terrorists at Bagh area of Khyber district. A large number of military and civil officials also attended the funeral. The Army Chief also visited CMH Peshawar to inquire about the well being of troops injured during the operation and appreciated their high morale. Muqam lauds IOM services for Afghan refugees in Pakistan

Minister for States and Frontier Regions Amir Muqam has urged the international community to acknowledge Pakistan's efforts in hosting millions of Afghan refugees for the last 40 years. He was talking to a delegation led by Chief of Mission for the United Nations International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Pakistan, Mio Sato in Islamabad. The Federal Minister commended the International Organization for Migration for its services to Afghan citizen card holders and the host community. Federal, KP govts agree to jointly work to overcome power losses

Federal and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governments have agreed to jointly work to overcome power losses and recover areas. This was announced by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, and Energy Minister Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari at a joint news conference in Islamabad today. Speaking on the occasion, Ali Amin Gandapur assured that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government will play its role in unison with the Federal Government to reduce electricity losses. He said a drive with the cooperation of the public representatives and the community members will be launched to create awareness in this regard. The Chief Minister said it was also agreed to provide immediate relief to the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa till the strategy to overcome losses starts yielding dividends. He said the provincial government will also go for solarization in different parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa so that electricity losses can be controlled. Ali Amin Gandapur further said that we have conceive d a strategy to make Khyber Pakhtunkhwa a load-shedding-free province. He also thanked the Federal Government for its support and cooperation. Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari said we have shared issues and problems with each other. He said the model being evolved for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to overcome losses and electrify theft as well as to recover arrears will be replicated in other provinces as well. PM declares public holiday on Youm-e-Takbeer tomorrow

Youm-e-Takbeer will be observed tomorrow in remembrance of nuclear tests conducted on May 28, 1998 that made the defense of the country invincible. The day made Pakistan the seventh nuclear nation of the world and the first Muslim state to exercise maximum deterrence for peaceful purposes. Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has declared May 28 Youm-e-Takbeer as a public holiday on the day of making Pakistan's defense impregnable. In a statement today, he said the day reminds the nation's unity to make Pakistan's defence invincible. The Prime Minister said on this day, the entire nation vowed for the integrity of this country that no compromise will be made by accepting any kind of external pressure on country's defense. He said Youm-e-Takbeer recalls the memory that all the political and defense forces were united to make defence of the country unassailable under the crescent-carrying green flag of Pakistan. Shehbaz Sharif said Youm-e-Takbeer is a day to renew the pledge to thwart the nefarious des igns of external as well as internal foes of the country, hell-bent on endangering the country, through their politics of chaos and anarchy. He said Youm-e-Takbeer is a day to pay tribute to the then Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the Pakistan Army's initiative to make country's defense impregnable. The Prime Minister also paid tribute to former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and scientists for their role in initiating and continuing Pakistan's nuclear programme. Shehbaz Sharif further expressed nation's resolve to work tirelessly to ensure country's economic security with the same spirit it made Pakistan's defence invincible on 28 May 1998. Reforms to be introduced to improve governance in all districts: GB CM
