CDWP approves seven development projects

The Central Development Working Party has approved seven development projects in different sectors. The meeting was held in Islamabad with Deputy Chairman of the Planning Commission Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan in the chair. Four other projects were recommended to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council for further consideration. The projects are related to Transport and Communication, Agriculture and Food, Education, Energy, Health, Higher Education, Information Technology and Physical Planning and Housing sectors. PM invites UAE businessmen to invest in Pakistan’s key sectors

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has invited business leaders of United Arab Emirates to take advantage from immense investment opportunities in Pakistan especially in energy, infrastructure, tourism and IT sectors. He said this while talking to a delegation of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, who called on him in Abu Dhabi on Thursday. The delegation was led by Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce Abdullah Mohamed Al Mazrouei. Referring to bilateral trade and investment cooperation between Pakistan and the UAE, the Prime Minister reiterated Pakistan's commitment to enhance volume and scope of trade and explore possibility of its diversification. The members of Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce showed keen interest in doing business and investments in Pakistan. NDMA advises people to take precautions against heatwave

National Disaster Management Authority has issued guidelines concerning the prevailing heatwave which will likely to continue in most parts of the country particularly in Southern Punjab, Sindh and Balochistan in current week. The farmers have been advised to carry out agricultural activities keeping in mind the heatwave conditions. In view of heat wave and its hazardous impacts on health, people are advised to take precautions and avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight. People have been asked to avoid unnecessary exposure to direct sunlight, stay hydrated, and wear lightweight, light-colored clothing to minimize the effects of the heat. It is also recommended to remain indoors during peak sunlight hours to prevent heat-related illnesses such as heatstroke and dehydration. Source: Radio Pakistan

PM vows to boost private sector with business-friendly policies

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has underscored his commitment to advancing the private sector through business-friendly policies and facilitating foreign investors. He was talking to Director General of Abu Dhabi Fund for Development Mohamed Saif Al Suwaidi, in Abu Dhabi today. The Prime Minister stressed that collaboration between Emirati companies and their Pakistani counterparts would further bolster bilateral trade relations. He highlighted reformative measures undertaken by the government to bring economic stability to Pakistan. He emphasized the longstanding fraternal relations between Pakistan and the UAE, spanning decades. KP to present FY 2024-25 budget tomorrow

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa budget for the fiscal year 2024-25 will be presented tomorrow. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Minister Aftab Alam Afridi will present the budget in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly at 03:00 in the afternoon. According to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur, the provincial government will present a historical welfare relief budget for the people of the province. Due to austerity measures the provincial government has also decided to close all those development projects on which practical work had not been launched during the last several years. FC KP North conducted successful anti-smuggling operations during April

The Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa North has conducted successful anti-smuggling operations during the last one month in the province. According to details, these large-scale operations were conducted in Chitral, Dir, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Orakzai and Swat districts in order to prevent smuggling of drugs, foreign currency, foreign goods and arms. During the operations, illegal commodities worth about eighty million rupees were seized.
