Punjab Launches Satellite Internet in Schools

Punjab launched its satellite internet initiative in schools on Friday, aiming to bridge the digital divide. The pilot project was inaugurated by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz at DPS Model Town. During the signing of the MoU, a UAE delegation led by Sheikh Ahmed Dalmouk Al Maktoum was also present. Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz engaged with students at the DPS Digital Lab, emphasizing the government's commitment to enriching educational experiences through digital integration. The MoU aims to provide satellite internet to thousands of schools across Punjab, bridging the digital gap. This collaboration highlights a joint effort to use technology for development. During discussions between the two sides, the UAE delegation stressed the importance of satellite internet in improving digital access, especially in remote areas. Sheikh Ahmed Dalmouk Al Maktoum shared his excitement for the project's ability to support young talent and promote technological innovation. The partnership between One Web, ADM Holding, and the Punjab government represents a united effort to fulfill the region's digital ambitions. PM invites UK to invest in Pakistan’s diverse sectors

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has invited the United Kingdom to invest in diverse sectors of Pakistan's vast economic potential. Talking to British High Commissioner to Pakistan Jane Marriott in Islamabad, he expressed Pakistan's desire to attract investment from the UK and other countries. The Prime Minister highlighting investment opportunities in agriculture, food security, information technology, tourism, and mining. He said Pakistan and the United Kingdom enjoy long-standing relations that are further strengthening with the passage of time. Shehbaz Sharif also emphasized the government's commitment to improve governance structures and introducing institutional reforms. He said that the government is taking measures at the micro and macroeconomic levels to revive country's economy. President-designate of COP29 for collective efforts to deal with climate change issue

President-designate of COP29, Azerbaijan's Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources, Mukhtar Babayev called for collective efforts to protect the environment and deal with the issue of climate change. Talking to the media persons in Islamabad today, he said climate change is an urgent issue. He said his visit to Pakistan is also aimed at discussing the climate agenda. In her remarks on the occasion, Coordinator to the Prime Minister on Climate Change Romina Khurshid Alam said Pakistan has launched initiatives such as Green Pakistan, Living Indus Basin and National Adaptation Plan to cope with the issue of climate change. President Asif Ali Zardari has summoned session of the National Assembly at the Parliament House in Islamabad on Monday at four in the afternoon. The house will discuss issues of national and international importance besides transacting legislative business. Meanwhile, National Assembly speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq has called a meeting with parliamentary leaders tomorrow at three in the afternoon at Parliament House to discuss issues related to session of Lower House.
