Alam-ul-Huda visits Pakistan Sweet Home Centre in Islamabad

The spouse of Iranian President Alam-ul-Huda visited Pakistan Sweet Home Centre today where she was received by Member National Assembly Aseefa Bhutto. She commended the role played by the Centre in providing safe and nurturing environment to orphaned children. She also underlined the impact of supporting young generations for a successful future of the nation. Special 'dua' was offered for the people of Palestine especially the children of Gaza. NA passes unanimous resolution calling for coordinated efforts to combat plastic pollution

The National Assembly today passed a unanimous resolution calling for coordinated efforts from citizens, organizations and government entities to address the menace of plastic pollution. The resolution, moved by Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, said plastic pollution poses a significant threat to Pakistan's environment, wildlife and public health. It said the government of Pakistan recognizes the critical importance of protecting our planet, environment and echo systems whereas the damaging impact of plastic pollution on Pakistan's environment. Recognizing the paramount importance of preserving planet's environment and echo systems, the House emphasized the urgent need to combat plastic pollution and safeguard planet earth's health. The House adopted a motion, terminating the suspension of Members National Assembly Jamshaid Khan Dasti and Iqbal Khan. The motion was moved by Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar. At the outset, Rabia Naseem Farooqui took oath as Member of the National Assembly. Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq administered the oath. The House will now meet tomorrow evening. Source: Radio Pakistan

Interior Minister terms visit of Iranian President as quite significant

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi held a detailed meeting with his visiting Iranian counterpart Ahmad Vahidi and Minister for Law Amin Hossein Rahimi in Islamabad today. During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on security cooperation, terrorism, smuggling, border management, prisoners' swap and facilities of Pakistani pilgrims. Speaking on the occasion, the Interior Minister termed the visit of the Iranian President as quite significant in view of Pak-Iran bilateral relations. Death anniversary of Moin Akhtar observed

The 13th death anniversary of legendary artist, comedian, actor and host Moin Akhtar was observed on Monday. He was born on 24th December, 1950 in Karachi. Moin Akhtar made his television debut on 6th September, 1966. He performed several roles in television stage shows, dramas, films and talk shows. His best dramas were Eid Train, Studio Dhai, Bakra Qistoon Per, Fifty-Fifty, Loose Talk and many others. He was fluent in several languages, including English, Bengali, Sindhi, Punjabi, Memon, Pashto, Gujarati and Urdu. Moin Akhtar was awarded the Pride of Performance in 1996 and Sitara-e-Imtiaz in 2011 on his outstanding performance. He passed away on this day in 2011 in Karachi after suffering a heart attack.
